Job Vacancy - Laboratory and Field Senior Technician (University of Cambridge)

Laboratory and Field Senior Technician

[Grade 6: £32,332-£38,205; Closing 21/2/24]

The Department of Geography, University of Cambridge, has an opening for a Laboratory and Field Senior Technician, with experience in palaeoecological methods, to join the small and collegial Geography Science Laboratories team, whose work ensures the successful day-to-day operation, management and maintenance of the Department's field equipment and laboratory facilities. The role holder will work collaboratively alongside another LFST, and under the supervision of the Geography Science Laboratories Manager (GSLM), to support academic-led research activities and the design and delivery of laboratory and field teaching at all levels.

To complement the existing team, we are seeking candidates with experience in field and laboratory methods for terrestrial palaeoecology (e.g. palynology, macrofossils, diatom analysis, sediment coring). This is an exciting time to join the team as we revive our palaeoecology labs following the arrival of Dr Matthew Adeleye in 2023.
