The Department of Environment and Geography is seeking a Research Technician to support the UKRI-funded ÒSea Level Along Brazilian ShoresÓ project. The project seeks to reconstruct how sea levels have changed along the Brazilian coast over the last 200 years using sedimentary and microfossil approaches.
The Research Technician will be responsible for sediment sample preparation, microfossil analysis, and other routine laboratory analyses as necessary. Depending on skills and experience, the successful candidate may also have the opportunity to contribute to fieldwork in Brazil. The Research Technician will be fully integrated into the wider research project, including contributing to academic publications arising from the research.
This post is available at 100% FTE on a fixed term contract for 8 months (1/6/2024 - 31/1/2025). Please note that flexible working patterns and job-sharing opportunities will be considered.
